Work with your true self - Documentary
A sexual orientation that is not displayed by society as the norm can be challenging, especially in a vulnerable professional environment. How do members of the LGBTIQ+ community experience displaying their authentic selves to work? It is not always easy to be your true self, especially in an environment where being straight is often considered the norm. In that respect, it is often difficult for people to empathise with individuals that are gay. I believe that it is of great importance to share different perspectives of a story, and the film is a powerful means for that. Being forced into a box, being left out of the picture, or struggling to fit in a box that is not “meant” for us is for many LGBTIQ+ members in this society the standard of living. I hope that these stories (positive/negative) evoke people to think about their influence and attitude towards members of the LGBTIQ + community.
